Travel Protection: Why We Recommend It
Travel protection is always optional, and I never want to pressure anyone into purchasing it. However, I do want to ensure you have all the information you need before booking your trip so you can make an informed decision. My goal is to educate you on why I offer it, what it covers, and how it can benefit you.
I can show you what your trip package looks like with our most popular insurance included—it can always be removed if you decide you don’t want it.
Quick Overview
There are several travel protection options available. The most popular and frequently requested plan includes future travel credit in case you need to cancel. The terms of this credit vary depending on your itinerary. Additionally, there are higher-tier options that offer "Cancel for Any Reason" coverage, which provides cash refunds. If you're interested in exploring these options, just let me know!
Why We Recommend Travel Protection ~
Hurricane Season (May–November): If severe weather threatens your destination, travel protection allows you to reschedule or cancel your trip. For example, we once had to move a honeymoon couple to a different destination just days before departure due to an approaching hurricane. Thanks to their coverage, we seamlessly transferred their funds to a new trip.
Medical Coverage Abroad: Most U.S. health insurance plans do not cover medical expenses incurred overseas. Travel protection can help with everything from minor injuries (cuts, stitches, broken bones) to major medical emergencies (such as a jet-ski accident). We've had clients who needed emergency surgery abroad, and their insurance covered both medical costs and their return home.
Cruise Medical Emergencies: While cruises are an incredible experience, medical emergencies requiring care beyond the ship’s infirmary can be costly—especially if an air evacuation is needed. Travel protection ensures you’re covered in case of unexpected medical needs at sea.
Life’s Unexpected Events: If the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that life is unpredictable. If you need to cancel or change your trip due to an emergency—such as a sudden illness, a family emergency, or even an unexpected loss—you’ll have the flexibility to do so, even up until the night before departure.
Traveling with Kids: Kids can be accident-prone, and having travel protection provides peace of mind. If your child were to get sick or injured while traveling, not only would we assist you, but your insurance would help cover medical expenses and trip disruptions.
Trip Penalties & Non-Refundable Costs: Once a payment is made, airline tickets are typically non-refundable. As your departure date approaches, cancellation penalties for your trip increase. Cruises, in particular, have tiered cancellation policies, with penalties rising each month after the final payment deadline until your sail date. Without travel protection, you could lose most or all of your investment if you need to cancel or make changes. (Full terms and conditions are available upon request.)
Final Thoughts
Again, no pressure—I just want to make sure you have the facts so you can decide what’s best for you. That said, I highly recommend a Travel Protection Policy for the peace of mind it provides!
