Travel Protection is always optional and I never want to pressure anyone, but I do want to educate why I offer it and give you full disclosure before you book your trip so you understand what the protection covers and why I recommend it. I can show you what the package looks like with our most popular insurance added, and it can be removed if you truly end up not wanting it.
Here is a quick synopsis and please let me know if you have any questions as I think there is such wisdom in understanding what you are purchasing or declining.
The are several options for travel protection. The most requested and popular insurance includes future travel credit if you have to completely cancel. The terms for the future credit varies based on the trip itinerary. There are higher priced options that has cancel for any reason with cash back - so if you want to know more, let us know.
Here is why we recommend
Hurricane season is from the end of May thru the end of Nov. If the weather was looking iffy and a hurricane was remotely in the area, you could change or cancel your reservation. We once had to move a honeymoon couple 3 days before their trip because of a hurricane - so we simply used the insurance to pick up the funds on the trip and move them to a new trip in another destination. That is just one of hundreds of examples we have.
When traveling outside the USA, your personal health insurance usually will not cover if you have any medical needs. It is common for people to use the insurance for very minor things like cuts / stitches, broken bones, all the way to life-threatening accidents that happen when someone was hurt jet-skiing. I've read of a client breaking her ankle while on a trip and needed surgery - the insurance helped us fly her home and covered all the expenses of the missed trip and medical care while out of the USA.
While traveling on a cruise is a fabulous experience, if you were to become very ill and require emergency medical attention from than the ship infirmary, even evacuation by air it can be extremely expensive. We hope that never happens, but it has happened. Having Travel Protection will pay for itself more than you can imagine.
Life happens.....we never think we will cancel or change reservations, but if COVID taught us anything, the unexpected can happen. We always say, if a family member or close friend suddenly passes away, you could cancel or change your trip up until the night before you go if needed, or fly home early from a trip if needed for any reason if it is medical or emergency.
Traveling with kids: We pray that all is well during travel - but if one of your kids was sick or injured, what a comfort to know you had not only us to help, but the insurance to cover. Kids can be accident prone and that is just a reality.
Trip penalties: Once you place money down, airline tickets are non-refundable and as you get closer to your travel dates - if you had to cancel or change the trip, there could be other penalties where you could lose most or all your funds. (terms and conditions available upon request)
Again, no pressure - I wanted to communicate and give you some facts and info. Having said that, I highly recommend a Travel Protection Policy!
